Odisea Labs Researcher

Odisea Labs is an innovation lab dedicated to bridging the Latin American innovation gap across crypto and deep tech. Our mission is to catalyze the growth of pioneering builders in the region by introducing emerging technologies and fostering an innovation ecosystem. We focus on high-quality open-source research, scaling the regional presence of leading global companies, pioneering content creation, and building promising startups through our acceleration program.

We are seeking a dedicated Researcher with both quantitative and qualitative experience, ideally with a background in academic research environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in crypto, distributed systems, AI, and deep tech rit large - with a focus on Latin America. This role involves conducting comprehensive research, collaborating with data scientists to explore onchain data across various blockchain networks (including EVM and others), and engaging with relevant stakeholders within the Odisea ecosystem and the broader deep tech sector.

• Primary Research & Literature Reviews: Conduct in-depth primary research and comprehensive literature reviews within the crypto ecosystem and the wider deep tech sector.

• Collaborative Research: Work closely with data scientists to scope out onchain research projects across different blockchain networks.

• Data Analysis: Utilize quantitative methods to analyze complex data sets, providing actionable insights.

• Qualitative Insights: Employ qualitative research techniques to understand industry trends, user behaviors, and technological advancements.

• Project Management: Manage research projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and connect with relevant parties for interviews, fostering relationships that enhance our research initiatives.

• Community Building: Contribute to the development of a vibrant community throughout Latin America by sharing research findings and fostering collaborative opportunities.

• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about regulatory developments affecting deep tech in Latin America and ensure research activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.

• Presentation and Publication: Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and internal meetings, and contribute to publications in relevant journals or industry outlets.

• Deep Tech Enthusiast: Deep understanding of deep tech including (but not limited to) crypto, blockchain, AI, quantum, and biotech, among others, and a strong desire to expand the adoption of deep tech in Latin America.

• Technical Proficiency: Ability to work with data analysis tools and collaborate effectively with technical teams.

• Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex technical information and distill it into clear, actionable insights.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience in identifying, engaging, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to arrange and coordinate meetings, manage schedules, and keep detailed records of research activities.

• Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.

• Content Creation: Experience in producing comprehensive research reports, whitepapers, and educational materials for diverse audiences.

• Academic Background: Ideally you have experience in an academic research setting with a strong foundation in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
